It’s funny that no matter how many times we photograph weddings on Ft Myers Beach, there is always another great venue or location that the area has to offer. Bowditch Point is the perfect setting for an intimate ceremony, just down the road from the Pink Shell Resort and not too many people. It’s also a great beach for the sunset, which as you can see below, certainly delivered for D&D’s wedding.

We recently had the pleasure of photographing Jessica and Vince’s wedding and reception at the Pink Shell. For most weddings, the Bride is the star of the show with the Groom looking good, but in no comparison to the Bride. For this wedding Vince, in his United States Marine Corps Dress Blues, gave Jessica a run for her money. In the end though, Jessica still out-shined everyone, including Vince…

The Pink Shell Resort and Spa, located at 275 Estero Boulevard, Fort Myers Beach, FL 33931, has a variety of wedding and receptions options. The Lido Grand and Captiva Ballroom provide more formal wedding settings. While their signature lagoon-style “Octopool” waterfall and Bongo’s or Jojo’s restaurant provide a more tropical setting at the Pink Shell. Captiva may be just a short drive from Ft Myers beach, but the setting is worlds apart. Anita and Kaare were treated to a friendly Heron, pristine beach as far as the eye could see, dreamy clouds, and a perfect sunset! Coming all the way from Norway we were happy Captiva Island delivered everything the Bride, Groom, and this photographer could ask for!  They rented the Coquina House on Captiva Drive, a few steps from the Mad Hatter Restaurant, for their destination wedding spot and Island getaway.

Terri and Jeff’s wedding was on Ft Myers Beach  just across the street from the Beach United Methodist Church.

We already knew that it’s a great place for a relaxing weekend, but just recently we discovered what many Couples already know – Sanibel Harbour is a great place for a destination wedding!

From the beautiful beach ceremony, fantastic sunset, reception at the Wakefield Room, and after hours party at the Crow’s Nest – it was a great celebration!

The wedding ceremony was held at the Thomas A. Edison Congregational Church. The church, also called “The Little Church Around The Corner”, is just around the corner from Historic Edison Home. What really makes a Church though is not the building — it’s the people. And Georgia, Kyle, their Family and Friends really made this little church come to life!

As if the historic wedding location was not enough, Georgia and Kyle had a 1957 Cadillac Fleetwood to wheel them around in classic style.

Closing out the festivities, the wedding reception took place at the Fort Myers Burroughs Home on 1st Street. The Burroughs Home, built in 1901, is just across the street from the Langford-Kingston Home build in 1919. Just a few doors down is the Heitman House, built in 1908. This truly is the heart of Historic Downtown Fort Myers. Overlooking the Caloosahatchee River and a few blocks from the Old Federal Courthouse, their reception was truly in Old Florida Style!
