DiamondHead Beach Resort Wedding Photography on Ft Myers Beach! One of the great things about being a Fort Myers area photographer is that you can photograph destination weddings, as we’ve done, for years and still come across a venue that you’ve not been to before. This was the case in photographing Katie and Michael’s wedding at the DiamondHead Beach Resort. Fort Myers Beach is a great place for a wedding, but it’s also a place where MANY people come to relax in the sun and enjoy local attractions. Having your destination wedding at a South Florida beach resort makes it easy for your guests to enjoy your special day without the worry of finding parking or getting towed. Also, once the wedding festivities wind down, it’s nice to know that the only ride your guests will take is on the elevator, up to their room.

South Florida Wedding Photographer on Fort Myers Beach

And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. God saw that the light was good… As South Florida Wedding Photographer much of our photography is dependent on good light. Certainly photographers can add light with a flash, but nothing can compare to when we receive a sunset that gives us a glimpse of what it must have looked like on the first day. While Florida does have great sunshine, it’s not too frequently that the clouds and the sun are as amazing as it was for Lisa and Matt’s destination wedding photos at the Pink Shell Resort on Fort Myers beach.

No one can guarantee wedding photography that includes a sunset like this, but there are a few things you do to help give you the best chance of getting great images:

  • Work out with your photographer the timing of your wedding ceremony so that your vows are complete at least one hour before sunset.
  • During your wedding rehearsal identify someone who can guide family and friends to your reception as quickly as possible. This way, the bride and groom can focus on each other and your photographer can focus on capturing great moments in the best light of the day.
  • “Just be” – your guests are now at the reception, the anticipation of the ceremony complete, it’s time to enjoy the moment!  This may sound obvious, but photos capture your emotions and however you’re feeling will be represented in your wedding photos. “Just be”…

Ft Myers Beach Wedding Photographers – Pink Shell Resort

It’s not often that you can say you were the wedding photographer for a grand slam wedding, but we were fortunate enough to photograph the wedding of Erik and Tina, at Pink Shell on Fort Myers Beach.  I call it a ‘grand slam’ not only due to the fact that Erik is Erik Lis of the Minnesota Twins, but because everything from the beautiful bride, handsome groom, bridal bouquets, marriage ceremony on the beach and reception to follow went just right.

  • Wedding Coordinator – The Pink Shell‘s Miss Dony – She did such a fab job coordinating everything — as usual!
  • Bridal bouquets and Flowers –  Libby’s – The orchids and roses were gorgeous.
  • Florida weather for this ceremony on the Ft Myers Beach – perfect – all thanks to God.

Pink Shell Resort Fort Myers Beach Weddings

As a Fort Myers Photographer I’m frequently asked what my favorite venues are for weddings in the Ft Myers area. The Pink Shell Beach Resort and Spa certainly is on the top of my list! The Pink  Shell’s beach location provides a very picturesque wedding setting all photographers would love. Not only that, they have fantastic staff and other amenities that make it a great location for a destination wedding. As a Bride you’ll appreciate that the Pink Shell has a dedicated coordinator, like Dony Bruder,  for every wedding. We especially liked that Dony coordinated in a ‘photography mindful’ way as well, checking in with us on the time-line of the day frequently.
