South Seas Resort Wedding Photographers on Captiva Island

Wedding Photographers shooting at South Seas Resort on Captiva Island, Florida can expect only one thing in common between the various weddings they photograph — it’s, more than likely, going to be a destination wedding. This is where the commonality ends. South Seas Resort weddings can be large formal events at the Captiva Ballroom, President’s Room, or the Sea Pearl Room next to the Butterfly Garden, or an intimate ceremony on Sunset Beach or King’s Crown Lawn. Another fantastic Captiva Island destination wedding location is ‘Tween Waters, where we’ve photographed many times.

Our Bride and Groom, Tamra and Steve, choose a small wedding ceremony near Sunset Beach on Captiva Island. While we could not see the sunset on this particular evening, the stunning Altocumulus Billow clouds made for a great photographic back drop. Yes, I did look up the type of cloud!!

If you are looking for a unique wedding idea, check out the photo of this Bride’s non-traditional, bead bouquet as an alternative to traditional flowers.  This bouquet, like the wedding photos, will last forever.

Captiva Island Photographers ‘Tween Waters Inn Wedding

Photographers love ‘Tween Waters Inn’s Old Florida elegance for weddings because their location gives a photographer everything they could ask for all in one spot. The historic Tween Waters’ Wakefield Room, The Old Captiva House, Sunset Lounge and Canoe & Kayak Club banquet rooms are walking distance from their picturesque beaches on the Gulf of Mexico. Having your sunset wedding ceremony on Tween Waters Inn’s private beaches means no crowds in your photos and the reception to follow just a minutes walk away. Add in a great bride like Abby, fun groom like Taylor, Photographers from Leap Year Photography and you have everything needed for a fun wedding and fantastic photography on Captiva’s beaches!

Also with the nearby activities like the Sanibel – Captiva Nature Trail, J. N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge and Commodore Creek Canoe Trail your guest have everything needed to extend your wedding day to remember into a week of relaxation at a wildlife photography hot spot on Captiva Island.

Abby and Taylor’s wedding reception was held at the Canoe & Kayak Club. The ’Tween Waters Inn Island Resort is located at 15951 Captiva Drive, Captiva Island, Florida 33924. This picture was taken right after the cake cutting. To Smash Or Not To Smash? No Wedding cake smashed by this loving couple! While cake smashing sometimes makes for funny wedding photography, we’re always happy with the cake photos to end with a nice clean faced kiss.

Sanibel Island Photographer and Captiva Island Photographers at South Seas Resort

We met the Cariveau family for a photography session during their vacation at the South Seas Resort back in March.  Being Captiva Island Photographers in the Spring time is beautiful thing! The temperature was just right with the water still cool enough to provide the perfect sea breeze to keep everyone comfortable. The breeze did present some challenges for getting photos without hair blowing all over, but that’s not unexpected for beach photography.

Above is one of my favorite photographs from their portrait session. With the two little ones in the background playing and proud parents posing in front of the fantastic Captiva Island beach view. It does not get much better than this… Clearly they are a very blessed family!

The South Seas Resort is just past some of Captiva Island’s famous restaurants, The Mucky Duck, The Bubble Room and The Mad Hatter! Many visitors from off-island come just for the restaurants, but the best Captiva attraction (in and out of peak season) is a leisurely stroll on the tropical peaceful beach. Captiva’s beach is like a different world compared to the party scene of Fort Myers Beach…

Captiva Island Photographer – Weddings too!

We’ve been photographing out on Captiva Island, South Seas Resort and ‘Tween Waters quite a bit lately! And what better place for a Wedding Photographer and Family Photographers to work! It’s great to see Blind Pass open to the Gulf of Mexico again too.

For this photo shoot we met Mike, Khan, Justin and Ashley at South Seas for family portraits at sunset. While we couldn’t exactly see the tropical-island sun as it was setting this time, it did create some beautiful pink, purple and blue clouds… The evening on Captiva’s Beach was very tranquil and relaxing — its sometimes easy to forget you are actually working!
